Orpheus & Erica: a Deaf opera starring Deaf performers John Maucere, Amber Zion, and WAWA Snipe and the immensely talented opera singers from the Victory Hall Opera Company, was performed at UVA’s Old Cabell Hall, March 21-24, 2023.  The performance is an update of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice in ASL by Miriam Gordon-Stewart with Willy Conley & poetry by Gregory Orr, and is co-directed by Alek Lev & Miriam Gordon-Stewart.  A film of the performance is now available for viewing.  The production was the follow up from the Deaf Opera Workshop: Breaking the Sound Barrier performed at Old Cabell Hall almost three years ago.
